Regional Success for Zone One

In the last of the Regional Competition results to be announced the final two places at the Royal Albert Hall National Finals were awarded to Zone One and Friary. Zone One were declared the winners following a fabulous performance in Stevenage, which clearly found favour with adjudicators Howard Evans and David Hirst. In addition to the regional title Zone One also received individual honours for their outstanding cornet, euphonium and trombone soloists. Friary were a popular second placed performance, under the direction of Chris King, with an additional consolation prize awarded to the band’s outstanding tenor horn player. The podium places were completed by Jayne Murrill’s East London Brass, who in third place narrowly missed out on final qualification.

Further congratulations are owed to the winners Hitchin, Alder Valley Brass, Simon Langton Brass, Putney & Wimbledon and qualifiers in the lower sections, who have earned places in Cheltenham later this year. Full results are below:
