Jena presents a Traditional German Christmas
The Grand Christmas concert of the Brass Band BlechKLANG from Jena, which was recorded live in the Stadtkirche St. Michael on 5th December 2021, is now available as an on-demand service. The decision to release the concert was the great success of the livestream, which was heard by more than three hundred listeners worldwide from South Africa to the USA. The complete programme "Es sagt aus alten Tagen …" (Tales from ancient times) will be available until 6th January 2022.
“Playing our big Christmas concert for the first time almost without an audience was an unusual situation for all of us,” recalls Alexander Richter, conductor and artistic director of the Brass Band BlechKLANG. “We would have loved to entertain our local audience again this year with our traditional pre-Christmas highlight. Due to Corona, however, we had to switch to the streaming version, which turned out to be a real success with more than 300 viewers worldwide. So, I'm even happier that we can now make the programme available to all other interested parties!”
The video can be accessed as an on-demand offer for a small fee via the platform eventbrite.com or the link https://www.eventbrite.com/e/jenaer-blaserweihnacht-tickets-228872252067. The mobile sound studio more Recording+Production from Nuremberg is responsible for the high quality of the recording. Both the listening and viewing experience have already been highly praised by the live audience. Richter comments: “We are really happy to have such a strong partner at our side and would like to thank them very much for their cooperation. In addition, our thanks go to the Sparkasse Jena, Zeiss and the project ‘Klang der Ferne’ of the Thuringian Cultural Foundation!” All proceeds from the stream go directly to BlechKLANG's extensive work with young musicians. At its own orchestra school KLANGwelt, around 400 children are currently being trained by an international team of teachers, from early musical education to youth brass band.
