Composer Paul McGhee takes a little look at Philip Sparke's latest Christmas gift.

Philip Sparke has already given brass bands many Christmas concert staples and his latest arrangement, Winter Wonderland, is sure to become a concert regular. Dick Smith and Felix Bernard’s Christmas classic dates back to the 1930s, but Philip Sparke’s skilful arrangement breathes new life into the music. Making full use of the percussion section, the popular seasonal song will require a band that knows how to swing, but with plenty for it to get its teeth into, it could make the seasonal ‘concert-a-thon’ much more enjoyable!
