A moonlight serenade in Switzerland

BBW Editor and International Euphonium Soloist, David Childs, recently returned from Switzerland where he performed as guest soloist at the Moonlight Festival with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic under the direction of Manfred Obrecht.

The outdoor concert took place in Zofingen and was given to a capacity audience, many of whom had not heard the euphonium before. David performed Howard Lorriman's arrangement of Picchi's Fantasy Originale and Monti's Czardas, before returning to the stage at the end of the concert to provide the encore in the form of Joseph Parry's beautiful Myfanwy.
