Awards at Chapeltown

Chapeltown Silver Prize Band’s Annual Patrons’ Concert on 22 April saw Terry Hoyland present a donation, secured through his membership of the Tapton Masonic Lodge, from the Freemasons of Yorkshire West Riding, received on behalf of the band by two of its youngest members, Lucy Heeley (aged 11) and Daniel Morris (aged 16).

A presentation was also made to the Band’s Musical Director, Andrew Dennis, in recognition of the remarkable progress and achievements the band has made since his return in 2008. 

Under Andrew's guidance, the band won the Section achieved back-to-back wins in Section 2 (2015) and Section 1 (2016).

Speaking on behalf of all the players and officials, Peter Gowers thanked Andrew for his hard work and dedication to Chapeltown.
