Friary supports MacMillan
The wonderful players of Friary Brass braved the elements at Camberley's Meadows Shopping Centre prior to Christmas in order to provide festive cheer for shoppers. The warm-hearted (though icy-fingered) carolling session raised £1,135 to be split between Macmillan Cancer Relief and band funds.
The amount was over double any other total raised on a single day, leading Friary Chairperson David Wicks to comment, "In these challenging economic times, the public's generosity was incredibly humbling. And with two of our players currently receiving treatment for cancer, the amount raised for Macmillan was particularly satisfying, so many thanks to all those who kindly donated."
