Inaugural Success for EIBB Winter School
The Elgar International Brass Band Summer School recently hosted its inaugural Winter School. The four-day Winter course was took place at Bromsgrove School in Worcestershire, with over 30 delegates taking the opportunity to work under Flowers MD, Paul Holland and his team of tutors: Mark Wilkinson, Chris Thomas, Les Neish, Daniel Thomas, Jonny Bates, and Ceri-Ann Townsend.
Following busy days of rehearsal, practice and tutoring the winter school concluded with a public concert. Commenting on the course’s success Mark Wilkinson stated that he “Had an enjoyable couple of days working on the inaugural Elgar International Brass Band Winter School. Due to its success, we will hold the course again next December on top of our well established Elgar International Brass Band Summer School which only has a couple of spaces available for Summer '25.”
A delegate from the inaugural course explained, “It was amazing sharing the stage, playing alongside these awesome players and tutors Mark Wilkinson, Jonathan Bates, Daniel Thomas, Chris Thomas and Les Neish and all under the brilliant direction of Paul Holland ... 'conductor of the year!'”
