Entries invited for 2025 European Conductors Competition 

Young conductors are invited to apply for a place in the European Conductors Competition 2025 to be held in Stavanger, Norway, as part of the 46th European Brass Band Championships, with the Norwegian Band Federation as the local organisers.  
The 8th European Conductors Competition will take place 4-8 May 2025. 
 
Candidates in the first round, on Sunday 4th May at the University of Stavanger, Faculty of Performing Arts, will work with the Sola Brass Band and pieces the candidates can choose to work on are ‘Partita’ by Philip Wilby, ‘Sinfonietta No.3’ by Etienne Crausaz and ‘As a Glow’ by Ludovic Neurohr. 
 
The sinfonietta Insimul will be the ensemble for the second round on Tuesday 6th May in the Kuppelhallen, Stavanger Konserthus. The pieces to be conducted are ‘Nonet No.2’ (H374) by Bohuslav Martinů and ‘Sinfonietta Op.1’ by Benjamin Britten. 
Stavanger Brass Band will play in the final, on Thursday 8 May in the Kuppelhallen, Stavanger Konserthus, and pieces to be performed are ‘Fraternity’ by Thierry Deleruyelle, ‘Catharsis’ by Kjetil Djønne and ‘Lowry Sketchbook’ by Philip Wilby.
