Devon County Youth Brass Band starts season in Style

The DCYBB kicked off the new academic year in style last weekend with an incredible workshop featuring members of the Flowers Band, fresh off their amazing National victory and second place at the British Open Championships. Brass players aged 11-18 were welcomed to King Edward VI Community College for a full day of workshops and rehearsals in conjunction with Devon Music Education Hub.

A quartet of players from Flowers: Luke, Emily, Matt and Gregor, had a brilliant day down in Totnes working with the talented players of the Devon County Youth Brass Band. The band worked through a range of challenging repertoire in full band rehearsals and sectionals, had an opportunity to ask questions in a Q&A session and gave a short concert to friends and family to conclude the day.

If you’d like to get involved in the rest of the year, the next youth band rehearsal is Sunday 24th November, then visit www.dcybb.org for details.
