‘Brilliant morning of music’ at Innerleithen
Six bands took part in the 11th Innerleithen Youth Brass Band Contest at St Ronan’s School on 26th October. The adjudicator was well-known player, conductor and teacher, David McLeod. The aim of the day was to promote music in a fun and supportive environment and David provided excellent feedback to all bands following the performances. He placed St Ronan's Future Band first in the Preparatory section, Maroon Brass as winners in the Novice class and Gala Youth Band led the Development section.
Organiser Rebecca Lindsay commented, “It was a brilliant morning of music from all of these young players and we were pleased to welcome all of these youth bands to Innerleithen. The quality of the music was excellent and it was great to see so many people come out to support the youngsters.”
