Marzella-Wheeler will lead Aldbourne at BIC 

Aldbourne Band has announced that Katrina Marzella Wheeler will be taking them to this year’s Brass in Concert at the Sage, Gateshead on Saturday 16th November! Hailing from West Lothian, Katrina is one of the world’s leading baritone players and is making a very impressive name for herself as a conductor and adjudicator both in the UK and across Europe. Passionate about encouraging more women into brass band conducting, Katrina regularly leads conducting workshops and panel discussions around the country.  

A spokesperson for the band explained, “We are honoured she has agreed to conduct us and are so excited to work with her further. Katrina has been working hard behind the scenes with our MD, Glyn Williams and composer, Daniel Hall to bring together a fantastic programme for BiC. Keep an eye on our social media for our theme reveal in the next few months! We were very lucky to have Katrina conduct us at our ‘Carnival Concert’ a few weeks back (pictured above) and we’re really looking forward to having her back in the band room soon!”
