Fifteen Line up for Fife

Fifteen bands will be performing their own choice of march, hymn tune and test piece in the Fife Charities contest which takes place at the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy at the end of this month. This popular event in the banding calendar on Saturday 28th September will have so much more on offer this year. Apart from providing a potential route to the 2025 Spring Festival, new silverware will be awarded for best baritone, best non-FCBA band and FCBA unsung hero. There are also extended venue opening hours from 9am for a spot of socialising before the first band takes to the stage at 10am.

A short interval concert will feature members of FCBA development bands including players from Kingdom Youth, Lochgelly Community, Dysart Development, Tullis Wizards and Cupar Bandits. Before the results announcement, there will also be a debut public appearance by the newly-formed Central Scotland Percussion Ensemble. For those unable to make the day there will be live commentary on the event on the FCBA Facebook page courtesy of guest adjudicator Aileen Orr.

Ticket prices are now available at £10 (£6 concession, under 16s go free) from the Adam Smith box office and online: https://www.onfife.com/event/fife-charities-band-association-contest-aj81/ For those wishing to attend the interval concert, matinee tickets are available for the reduced price of £5 which will entitle the holder entry into the second half of the contest.
