Entries invited for the Scottish Youth Brass Band Festival 

Entry forms and information for this year’s Scottish Youth Brass Band Festival are now available. All youth brass bands and percussion ensembles in Scotland are invited to enter their respective competitions, part of the Scottish Festival of Brass, which will take place in Perth Concert Hall over the weekend of 23 and 24 November. The percussion contest will be held on the Saturday morning, prior to the Scottish Open Championships for championship section bands. The Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships take place on the Sunday.

Bands in the Novice section are to play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 10 minutes which must include a set work as follows: 
 
Novice Section: 
‘It’s Raining Again’ from Fun Factory Junior Brass Series by Alan Fernie 
Bands in the Intermediate and Development sections are to play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 15 minutes which must include a set work as follows: 
 
Intermediate Section: 
‘Ghostbusters’ from Junior Band Series by Ray Parker, arr Rob Hume 
 
Development Section: 
‘Techno Pirate’ from Pirate Adventures by Gareth Bowman (www.archermusicpress.com). 
 
Premier Section bands can play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 20 minutes playing time.
