Shaun Crowther welcomed at B&R

Brighouse and Rastrick has announced that Shaun Crowther will be joining the band, as its new Solo Eb Tuba player. Long regarded as one of the finest Eb Tuba players in the brass band movement, Shaun served as the Fairey Band’s Principal Tuba for 25 years, and Grimethorpe Colliery Band’s for a further 20; some of the most successful years for both bands. He has become one of the most recognisable personalities and soloists in top flight banding, with his playing becoming an integral part of these band's successes on the contest and concert stage.

A spokesperson for the band commented, “An experienced music teacher, Shaun has tutored at the University of Huddersfield, Hull Music Service, and on courses across the country and as far afield as Australia. Shaun is a welcome addition to our engine room, and we couldn't be happier to welcome him to the B&R family! A massive thank you to Ben Russon, for all of his help and support over the last few weeks on the Solo Eb seat, he is an absolutely fabulous player, with a bright future ahead of him.”
