Cory’s Lower Brass Day
Cory Band is hosting its first Low Brass Day lead by Principal Euphonium Glyn Williams and Principal Eb Tuba Tommy Tynan. A spokesperson from the band explained, “Join Glyn and Tommy on Saturday 24th August 2024 in the home of Cory Band for a day perfect for any low brass player with lots of opportunity for playing, questions and answers, opportunity to try our a range of instruments, mouthpiece and accessories.”
The day is open to Euphonium, Baritone & Tuba players of ALL ages and ALL abilities. The day will include performing reworked arrangements as the basis of a workshop, with rehearsal and sectionals with a combined band performance at the end of the day, which will be preceded following a recital and Q&A from Tommy & Glyn.
There is also an opportunity for a handful of delegates to perform a solo piece for Glyn and Tommy and receive some constructive feedback from both them and the group. This is an optional extra and can be selected on the application. During the day there will be a display of a range of instruments to try alongside both Mercer & Barker, and Randefalk Mouthpieces.
