National Forum
The National Forum, which is responsible for overseeing the rules and structure of the National Championships, is comprised of representatives from the eight Regions, including the Scottish Championships, the six English regions, and the Welsh region his Forum had their post-Regional Championships meeting earlier this week in Birmingham. Several matters were raised and discussed, and the decisions made will be publicised in due course.
Philip Morris (Managing Director) announced a significant change in the structure of Kapitol Promotions, the owners of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain, at the meeting. The Nicola Morris Trust has purchased Nicola Bland's shares in Kapitol Promotions Ltd., Nicola Morris was Philip’s daughter, who sadly passed away last year. Philip said that Nicola Bland will remain a Director of the company, and further Directors will be appointed in the coming weeks.
As the meeting ended, Tom Allan presented The President's Award, on behalf of The Scottish Brass Band Association to Philip Morris and Nicola Bland for their services to the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
