Coop Retains Fife Title

Congratulations to the cooperation band on successfully defending its title at last weekend’s Fife Brass Band Festival entertainment contest. Sixteen bands entered the event in the Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline, but it was the current champions’ near-perfect performance that once again caught the ear of adjudicator Helen Douthwaite-Teasdale, achieving a score of 99 points. Taking the runners-up spot was Whitburn on 97 points and in third place was the resurgent Kirkintilloch Band on 96 points.

Entertainment judges Madelaine Baker and Jill Gillespie selected Tullis Russell Mills as the day’s most entertaining programme.
