Lenton joins B&R

After qualifying for the National finals last weekend at the Yorkshire Regional Championships, the Brighouse and Rastrick Band has announced even more good news, as it welcomes Sarah Lenton to the Solo Baritone seat.

Originally from Cambridge, Sarah started playing the Baritone at the age of 5. She then found herself becoming one of the youngest players to join the now GUS band at aged 13. She subsequently joined the National youth Brass Band of Great Britain, where she held the principal Baritone seat, performing alongside several of B&R’s current members. Whilst completing her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, Sarah became a member of several top flights bands including Fairey, Fodens and Leyland bands; occupying the solo baritone seat with all of them.

Sarah has now settled in Nottingham, and has spent the last 4 years with the Grimethorpe Colliery band. When she is not playing, Sarah works in a Mental health team in Nottingham and enjoys spending her free time with her little boy Freddie. Her first engagement with B&R will be this evening (Saturday 9th March) at Morley Town Hall.
