Scottish solo and ensemble contests set for 2024

Qualifying competitions for the Scottish Solo and Ensemble Championships will be taking place from next month. Individual contests will take place within the West of Scotland, South West Scotland, East of Scotland, Northern Counties and Borders area associations.

The first of these competitions will be the East of Scotland solo and ensemble contest on Saturday 20 January in the Gorgie Salvation Army Hall.

The next events, on Saturday 3 February, are the Northern Counties contest in the Panbride Hall, Carnoustie, the West of Scotland competition in the Bellshill Salvation Army Hall, and the Borders qualifier in Teviot Church, Hawick.

The South West Scotland event will take place on Saturday 10 February at the Quarrymen’s Arts Centre, Creetown.

The Scottish Solo and Ensemble Championships finals are on Saturday 23 March at the Bellshill Salvation Army Hall where Besson artist Tom Smith, principal cornet of the Brighouse and Rastrick Band, will be the adjudicator.
