Shaw joins WFEL Fairey

The WFEL Fairey Band has announced the signing of Pete Shaw on Flugelhorn. Pete began playing with Poynton Band before first joining Faireys at the age of 15 under Peter Parkes. Following a successful period as principal cornet of the BT Band, Pete re-joined Faireys in 2001 and went on to win consecutive National titles under the direction of Allan Withington.

After a second spell with the BT Band, Pete retired from full-time playing in 2008 before returning to take up the principal cornet chair with the Leyland Band, a position he held for two years. Pete completes a strong horn line-up for Faireys and has most recently performed with the band at the British Open and National Championships.
