Six youth bands feature in Innerleithen contest

The tenth annual Innerleithen Youth Brass Band Contest was held at St. Ronan’s School on Saturday 30 September and enjoyed an entry of six bands from across the Borders, Lothians and Kirkcudbrightshire. The adjudicator was respected player and conductor Anne Crookston. In her remarks to the players and audience at the awards ceremony, she remarked on the quality of the performances and, particularly, on the confidence that she could see and hear from the young players on stage.

organiser Rebecca Lindsay stated, “It was a brilliant morning of music from all of the young players, and we were pleased to welcome each of these youth bands to Innerleithen. The quality of the music was excellent, and it was great to see so many people come out to support the youngsters.”
