Kingdom win Fife Charities

Congratulations to Kingdom Brass on winning the Fife Charities Band Association contest in Kirkcaldy this weekend. The band retained its title with a super performance of ‘Metropolis 1927’. The band also won the hymn tune, best horn (flugal horn Sarah Findlay), best euphonium (Tom Coen) and best percussion section, with a team of six percussionists Congratulations also to Katrina Marzella Wheeler for winning the 'best conductor' prize on her debut with the band. Commenting on the win Katrina stated, “A great start to my collaboration with Kingdom Brass. I’m very proud of the players for a fine show, winning their home contest in Fife in a traditional ‘March, Hymn and Test Piece’ format. We tackled Peter Graham’s behemoth ‘Metropolis 1927’,no easy feat! The band was awarded a huge haul of silverware for individual prizes too, with some stunning trophies containing 100 years of banding history in Scotland.

Bravo to the contest organisers Fife Charities Band Association for an enjoyable day in a great venue, the revamped Adam Smith Theatre.
