Change in set works for Intermediate and Development Bands

A late change in the set works requirements for youth bands competing in the Scottish Festival of Brass on Sunday 26 November has been announced by the Scottish Brass Band Association.

The set work for the Intermediate section of the Scottish Youth Championships is now any piece from Spirituals (arr. Stephen D. Wood), Edition No.192 of the Junior Band Series, published by Obrasso-Verlag.

The set work for the Development section is any piece from Two Swinging Spirituals (arr. Alan Fernie), Edition No.29 of the Junior Band Series, published by Obrasso-Verlag.

The change in music and publisher has had to be made because of the recent hospitalisation of Nigel Durno, proprietor of Just Music, publisher of the original set test pieces, to whom SBBA extends best wishes for a speedy recovery.

The contest organisers have also lifted the age limit for over-age players in the youth bands competing in the Senior and Premier sections of the championships.
