AOBBA Trainee Programme Support at Cheltenham

The National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain will once again support the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators' Training Programme by incorporating several Trainee Adjudicators into this year's Sections 1-4 Finals 2023 event.

Section 4 Final - Trainees: Stuart Gray and Nick Sanders - Mentor: Stan Lippeatt

Section 2 Final - Trainees: Tommy Tynan, Craig Radcliffe and Matthew Ryan - Mentor: Martin Heartfield

AoBBA's Training Programme enables members to undertake a two-year mentoring period before becoming an official AOBBA Adjudicator. At The Centaur (Cheltenham Racecourse) next weekend, a "Trainee Adjudicator" box will be set up immediately behind the main "Adjudicator" box in the auditorium. Commenting on the initiative, Martin Heartfield (AoBBA Head of Trainee Adjudicator Programme) said: “We are delighted that once again with the support of Philip Morris and Kapitol Promotions, five of our trainees will complete one of their assignments at this year’s Sections 1-4 Finals. We would like to thank Kapitol Promotions for their continued support of the scheme, and having this high-profile contest as part of our schedule means that AoBBA’s Training Programme is able to offer a wide range of high-quality experiences for our trainees and the next generation of adjudicators.”
