New Horn at Cory

Cory Band has announced the arrival of new tenor horn player Eve Nixon. Eve started playing in the South Glamorgan Youth Brass Band and joined Tongwynlais at the age of 15 after which she was a member for 22 years She left contesting bands five years ago to join the army reserves as a musician with the ‘Regimental Band of the Royal Welsh’, but in 2023 Joined Llwydcoed Band, and now on to Cory.  

Musical Director Philip Harper commented: “I’m pleased to be able to link up with Eve again after our time together at Tongwynlais Band a few years ago. She’s a really strong player and a great bandsperson and has fitted really well into the team already.” Eve commented: “I’m thrilled to be given the opportunity to become a member of the Cory Band. I’m excited for the challenges and experiences ahead.”
