Westoe Band Welcomes new MD

The Westoe Brass Band has announced the appointment of Phillip Tait as its new Musical Director. Phillip takes the help on a permanent basis after working with the band over the past three months, preparing and leading the band through its busy summer schedule. A spokesperson for Westoe stated, “We are looking forward to continuing to work with Phillip who, as well as being an accomplished player in his own right, has as an MD demonstrated his clear and exciting musical vision through his programming, leadership and development of the band over recent weeks.” 

Phillip responded, “I’m delighted to be joining Westoe Band as Musical Director. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the band over the last few months and feel that we have built a strong partnership which will help to continue the success of the band. The band is extremely dedicated and genuinely enjoys making music together. I’m excited to see what lies ahead and look forward to continue working with such an enthusiastic, welcoming group of people.”
