Cobb to join NBNZ for Australian Tour
The National Band of New Zealand has announced its 2023 tour of Australia. Over the years the band has toured many times, both around New Zealand and internationally. The band has a proud history of competing in the World Brass Band Championships, held in Europe every four years and was placed 2nd on the last tour in 2017.
In September 2023, the National Band is going to Australia, with concerts planned in and around Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The guest soloist, joining the band from England, will be the immensely talented Besson and B&S Markneukirchen Artist and Principal Trumpet of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Philip Cobb.
The tour costs each member of the band a significant amount and in order to reduce costs to individuals the band is fundraising to offset the costs of accommodation and airfare. Donations can be made via the band’s givealittle page: https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/help-the-national-band-of-nz-get-to-australia
