10th Elgar International BBSS
The Elgar International Brass Band Summer School has enjoyed an amazing week to celebrate its 10th Anniversary Course with Artistic Director, Philip Harper. The course concluded with a Celebratory Concert where EIBBSS was joined by Cory Band and Guest Soloist Daniel Thomas performing the new Euphonium Concerto, ‘Venice’ by Judith Bingham to a capacity audience.
A spokesperson for the course commented, “Elgar International Brass Band Summer School would like to thank The Cory Band for their amazing show. The Delegates’ Concert was pretty amazing too. We’re now looking forward to the 2024 course from July 21st to July 26th led by Philip Harper.”
Cornet tutor Mark Wilkinson added, “I’ve had a fantastic time working on the 10th Elgar International Brass Band Summer School. I enjoyed spending time with a great set of tutors: Tom Smith, Darren Lea, Stephanie Binns, Sheona Wade, Adam Bokaris, Daniel Thomas, Les Neish, Chris Thomas, Steve Jones and Garth Andrews, who also performed an excellent concert under the direction of the course Artistic Director Philip Harper. The concert was recorded by World of Brass for future transmission. We’re all very grateful to Carole Crompton for administrating the course to such a high standard and I’m already looking forward to next year’s course.”
