B:Music Brass in a Day
B:Music has announced that it is to host its 'Brass in a Day' on Sunday 10th September following the 169th British Open Championships the day before. It is hoped that Brass in a Day 2023 will allow people to encounter and engage with brass music at any level of their respective careers, from the very first-timers as part of Have A Go Brass in the B:Eats café, through to the NYBBGB children’s band, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire graduates on the cusp of their professional career, through to the best brass band in the current world rankings in Cory performing alongside Black Dyke Band!
Commenting on the initiative Chris Proctor, Head of Programme at B:Music stated, “Following the success of hosting the 2022 European Championships, and our wonderful link to the British Open Championship we're delighted that we're producing our 'Brass In A Day' event. Expanding on the traditional Brass Gala performance, this initiative will enable people of all ages to experience brass band music from an introductory 'have a go' session, all the way through to being able to hear some of the best bands in the world whilst supporting young musicians on their respective musical journeys.”
