2023 BBNI Spring Festival

 

1st Old Boys were successful in scooping the BBNI Spring Festival title at the Strule Arts Centre in Omagh last weekend. Led by MD Dr Jonathan Corry, the band’s performance of Edward Gregson's 'Of Distant Memories' was judged worthy to claim the Rothman Cup by adjudicator Andrew Duncan. The band also picked up awards for 'Best Trombones' and 'Best Basses' as well as 'Best Soloist' (Andrew Milligan- Eb tuba) and ‘Winning MD’ 

This most recent win at the Spring Festival now means that 1st Old Boys hold all the contest titles in Northern Ireland as well as being recognised with the presentation of the BBNI Championship Section 'Band of the Year' and BBNI 'Band of the Year' awards.
