New BBE Safeguarding Officer

BBE has announced a new set of BandSafe training dates following the appointment of Elizabeth Smith as their new Safeguarding Officer. She brings with her experience of working with young people, having worked as a primary school teacher, where she often found herself taking on the role of Music Coordinator. Growing up in Bradford, Elizabeth learned the trumpet through the free music provision offered at school and Saturday morning music centre and later played in the Bradford Metropolitan Youth Band.

BandSafe is BBE’s safeguarding programme, developed in partnership with NSPCC. Ideal for Safeguarding and Welfare officers in bands, the course covers areas such as legislation and guidance, Child Performance Licensing and DBS checks. Those looking to refresh their safeguarding knowledge can now book into a session for March or April. Elizabeth will begin leading BandSafe training from March 2023.

New dates available to book now are:

Wednesday 15 March | 6PM

Tuesday 28 March | 6PM

Thursday 13 April | 6PM

Monday 24 April | 6PM
