BBE seeks new Safeguarding Officer

Brass Bands England is seeking to appoint a Safeguarding Officer to join our talented staff team. This is a position that can be based at Brass Bands England HQ in Barnsley or as a hybrid role.

This role is currently being advertised due to the impending departure of current Safeguarding Officer Sam Fisher at the end of the year. Sam Fisher commented stating, “It’s been a privilege to have worked alongside the BBE team to further develop the BandSafe programme and safeguarding provision amongst the banding community. The BandSafe training course is now well established and the newly appointed Safeguarding Officer will be perfectly placed to continue this vital work across the sector.”

Working as a key member of the Brass Bands England team, the post holder will be responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of the BandSafe safeguarding programme and the BBE BOPA used for Child Performance Licensing. This will include delivery of Safeguarding training, offering advice, supporting members bands’ responses with reports of abuse, processing DBS check applications and carrying out inspections of events to support the provision of the BBE BOPA.

Full details of the post and the application form can be found on the BBE careers page: https://www.bbe.org.uk/careers Any questions regarding this post can be directed to jobs@bbe.org.uk. Applications should be received by 9.00am on Wednesday 5 December. Interviews will be held on Monday 12 December either in-person in Barnsley or over Zoom at the candidates preference.
