Success for Camborne at SWBBA Open Contest
Following a two year break, Camborne returned to the Riviera Centre to clinch a fourth successive SWBBA Open title. With Kevin Mackenzie at the helm the band impressed adjudicators Paul Norley & Nicholas Garman with its excellent performance of Thierry Deleruyelle's 'Fraternity'. Chalford was narrowly beaten into seoncd place, despite a fine reading of 'Symphony No.3' by Swiss composer Etienne Crausaz, with St Austell's performance of 'Coventry Variations' by Bramwell Tovey placed third.
