Wychavon Decision to be made in September

The organisers the 2020 Wychavon Festival of Brass Entertainment Contest, scheduled to be held on October 31st, have announced that they will make a final decision at the end of September.

Chairperson of the Festival, Val Trim told stated, “We are all aware how difficult and uncertain things are at present for the brass band movement under the restrictions in place due to Covid-19 virus, and how the overall situation is evolving. Whilst it is impossible to be certain that the contest day will be going ahead, everyone associated with the Festival is fervently hoping that it shall and is working towards that end.

“As we all know, there are a number of factors that will determine our future action, not least the necessity to adhere to any Governmental advice and regulations that may be in place either on the day or in the weeks leading up to it. We are also conscious that bands have yet to return to regular practice and that, unless they do so at a time reasonably far ahead of the contest, they will be reluctant or unable to compete. Until then we shall continue to work hard to make Wychavon the joyous event it always is, keeping everything crossed and hoping for the best!”
