Brighouse March & Hymn Tune contest cancelled

The Brighouse March & Hymn Tune Contest has been cancelled owing to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The contest would have celebrated its 21st Anniversary this year, however concerns over the safety and wellbeing of competitors and organisers has meant the event will not take place until 2021.

Graham Horsfield on behalf of the Brighouse & District Lions Club stated that bands that originally entered the event have been informed, and "safety and the well-being of everyone was our top priority." He also thanked the sponsors who give “outstanding support” and hope to be able to relaunch the contest in 2021.
