Help for HD9

The HD9 Community Youth Brass Band groups, part of HD9 Community Music and based in the Holme Valley, are in with a chance of winning £100,000 from a grant through the Persimmon Homes ‘Building Futures’ Initiative and it is a huge achievement to have been selected as the regional finalist for Education and Arts.

The band is seeking your help as who wins the grant is decided by a public vote. In order to vote for the band simply follow this link and look for HD9 Community Music:

The vote refreshes each day so that means you can vote once every day!

The brass groups, run by Megan Caddy & Paul Kirk, recently found success at Whit Friday by coming away from the contest with two first prizes for ‘Best Youth Band’ and a 2nd place in the same category.

Musical Director, Paul Kirk stated, “This is a huge amount of money and will ensure that these community groups can keep running for many years to come. For a brass band to win a prize like this would be brilliant for not only us, but the brass banding movement as a whole, allowing us to carry on developing youth players for the future.”
