Stavanger visits the UK
The Stavanger Band will be performing twice this month in the UK. The first concert takes place on Friday May 31st at Wardle Academy where the band will appear as guests with Fairey and the Wardle Academy Youth Band. The band’s second appearance is the next at 7pm in Bangopr Cathedral with Côr Y Penrhyn on Saturday 1st June. The band and choir have previously worked together when Côr Y Penrhyn visited Stavanger in 2018 and on this occasion proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Motor Neurone Association and St. David's Hospice.
Resident Conductor Adam Cooke stated, "We are all thrilled to be making the trip across to the UK to link up with some great bands and a fantastic choir for two very special concerts. We're looking forward to joining our friends at Faireys and to hearing the recently crowned European Champions at Wardle Academy Youth Band, whilst the link with Côr Y Penrhyn should also make for a very special occasion."
Tickets for Friday 31st May are priced at £10; Under 18s £5 and available on the door, or from Wardle Academy Reception. The concert begins at 7.30pm, but you will want to get there early to hear Wardle Academy Blast provide pre-concert entertainment in the foyer.
