Wareham cracks ‘The Code’ for A4

A4 Brass Quartet is delighted to announce the results of their 2019 Composition Competition. The final round was judged in co-operation with globally renowned composer and tutor Gary Carpenter; and arranger, editor and festival director Paul Hindmarsh. In a final featuring eight works for brass quartet, it was ‘The Code’ by Andy Wareham that came out on top. A spokesperson from the group commented, “The standard of submissions for the final was amazing and our congratulations go to Andy. We are extremely grateful to our esteemed adjudicators and look forward to working on these pieces, performing and recording them throughout the next 12 months.”

 

Results:

1st Prize: £400, a professional recording and performances on the quartet’s concerts in 2019/2020 -  Andy Wareham ‘The Code’

2nd Prize: £150, a professional recording and performances on the quartet’s concerts in 2019/2020 – Paul Saggers ‘The Eagle has Landed’

Under 24 Prize (not in top 2 prizes): £100 and a professional recording of the work – Torin Christopherson ‘Leonardo at Work’
