NYBBA ready for Summer Launch

The brain child of Artistic Director Helen Harrelson, the National Youth Brass Band of America will have its inaugural course at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri from June 17th to 22nd. The course is open to brass and percussionists under the age of 23 and will be led by Professor David King.

Speaking about the venture Helen stated, "This is such an exciting time for the youth movement in the US. We have such a strong team invested in the success and development of this project and we're thrilled to welcome Prof King as our Founding Musical Director — who brings an immense amount of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm that will be fun, inspirational and challenging for the students."

We hope to be welcoming students from every part of the country," Helen added. "People have already been in touch, but due to the geographical logistics, we will be using technology to help, with prospective students asked to submit a video audition recording of not more than 6 minutes in duration."
