Young Composer Competition launched by SBBA

The Scottish Brass Band Association has launched its 2019 Young Scottish Composer of the Year. The event is open to young composers up to the age of 23 who are invited to submit an original piece for brass soloist with full brass band accompaniment.
 
A panel of judges will choose the top three entries, with prizes of £1000, £500 and £250 on offer, as well as the winning piece being premiered at the 2019 National Youth Brass Band of Scotland summer concert. The three winning composers will also be offered mentor sessions with well-known Scottish composers.
 
The closing date for entries is 1st March 2019.
