AoBBA Workshop cancelled

The Association of Brass Band Adjudicators has announced the popular 'Area Test-Piece Workshop' has been cancelled. The event was to have been held alongside valuable percussion and conducting sessions in January, but will now not take place owing to cost implications.

According to a spokesperson from AoBBA the "financial burden will be too heavy for an independent organisation such as AoBBA, which is funded only by subscription of its membership and without any outside support.

“AoBBA has plans to co-host future workshops and similar events with individual bands and banding associations as they believe they are a valuable resource to players, conductors and all in the brass band community.

“We hope this has not inconvenienced any hopeful participants and we wish all bands every success in the 2019 Regional contests.

“AoBBA membership will be well represented at all the areas and the adjudicators are looking forward to playing their part in the thrill and intensity of the brass band contest scene."

AoBBA’s Annual General Meeting will still be held at 10.30am on Saturday 19th January at Boarshurst's Bandroom.
