Changes at Crofton
Crofton Silver Band is pleased to announce three new signings to herald its arrival into the first section for the first time in the band’s 144 year history.
On the back of excellent results at the National Finals and in the championship section at Bolsover Contest the band is delighted to welcome Sam Morris, Gareth Jones and Eiry Allender.
Sam joins from Skelmanthorpe Prospect on second cornet, Gareth has recently moved to Yorkshire following spells with Aldbourne Band and Filton Concert brass and joins Crofton on Eb Bass whilst Eiry has just began a degree at Leeds University studying Music and Electronics. She joins on front row having played repiano at BTM and the National Youth Brass Band of Wales.
Conductor Dean Jones said, “It is a really exciting time to be part of this up and coming, ambitious band. All three signings really strengthen the band and give us the strongest line up ever, ready for our assault on the first section in 2019. Crofton has a fantastic blend of youth and experience as these signings amplify. We are now just on the look out for a soprano player to complete our line up.”
