Gloucestershire provides free workshop day for 2019
The Gloucestershire Brass Band Association and Gloucestershire Music have joined forces to provide youth band leaders, conductors and local musicians with free training to help develop their skills. The free event will take place on Sunday January 6that Sir Thomas Rich School and will be led by conductor and composer Tom Davoren.
Tom will lead a session on the basics of conducting which will be followed by an open discussion alongside Piet Visser (Netherlands) and Remi Vilys (Sweden) on how to start and develop successful youth band programmes. Participants are encouraged to bring their instruments for the first part of the day, with the event concluding with the chance to listen to the newly formed Gloucestershire Youth and Reunion Brass Band.
