Concord Brass Band sailed to a 3rd consecutive victory at the recent Danish National Championships. The band impressed with its performances of both the set test and own choice work, Oliver Waespi’s ‘Audivi Media Nocte’. Under the direction of Jesper Juul Sorensen the band beat rivals Lynby-Taarbek into second place with locals Arhus making up the podium places.
Led by Jesper Juul Sorensen, their performances of Eric Ball's arrangement of 'Theme and Eight Variations' from the 'Enigma Variations' by Edward Elgar, and their own-choice selection of Oliver Waespi's 'Audivi Media Nocte', saw them claim a clear margin of victory over rivals Lyngby-Taarbek, who ended just ahead of third placed Arhus. Concord will now be invited to represent Denmark at the 2019 European Championships in Montreux.
There were also victories in the lower divisions for Hinnerup Gardens Brass Band, Danfoss Orkestret and Greve Pigegarde. Full results are listed below:
