Euphonium legend to retire after 42 years at the top

Brass Band World has been informed that Derick Kane has taken the decision to retire as principal euphonium of the International Staff Band following 42 years of service.

The legendary euphonium soloist told BBW: "These decisions never come lightly or easily, however, I look back on many happy years and special occasions with the ISB with some very special people making great music. I wish the band well in the future."

Derick's final engagement with the ISB will take place in January 2019 at the RNCM with the ISB & the Black Dyke Band. A full news item will appear in the next edition of Brass Band World.
