Swiss Open 2018

Congratulations to Brass Band Berner Oberland, who won the title of Swiss Open Champions this weekend under the direction of Corsin Tuor. Second placed Brass Band Treize Etoiles were hot on their heels, being awarded the same points total of 341 over both parts of the contest. However by virtue of a stunning performance of ‘Phoenicia’the international adjudicating panel of David Childs (UK), Pascal Eicher (Switzerland), Maurice Hamers (Holland), Howard Lorriman (UK) and the composer himself Stephan Hodel (Switzerland) placed awarded them first place in the set test competition, giving them the edge over their closest rivals.

A full review and retrospective of the event will appear in the next edition of BBW.
