Cheltenham Errata
Kapitol Promotions has announced that there are a small number of minor errata for the set-works at the Cheltenham National Finals.
KING ARTHUR: SCENES FROM A RADIO DRAMA
Bar 77: Flugel horn — the second semiquaver of the group would be a D natural, not a D sharp.
Clarification:
The omission of Movement 3, from Paul Hindmarsh (Faber Music Consultant): "I was assuming that the second movement would end then pause for a breath and straight on. The second movement segues into the third, so this would work. The key is fine — no sudden lurches.
I think the judges should accept any sensible solution to be honest, as it will also work as a segue. Leave it to the good taste of the conductors".
EPISODES FOR BRASS:
2 before letter E: The 3rd cornet should part be accented on first quaver.
Bar before letter F: Flugel should have a decrescendo to p like all cornets and flugel.
Bar 7 of letter H: Euph should be marked mp at rather than mf.
1 Bar before K: The soprano cornet should be slurred on first two beats as Rep, 2nd and 3rd Cornets.
8 after letter M: The soprano semiquavers should be slurred and grouped in 4s (as the solo horn and euph).
11 and 13 after M: The soprano notes should have an accent.
10 bars before the end: Maestoso Allegando (6/4 bar), the 1st and 2nd trombones should have an accent on the second quaver.
Clarification:
6 before I: crotchet = crotchet. This is correct
DIVERTIMENTO FOR BRASS:
Bar 7 & Bar 53: 1st horn should be marked written G's throughout the bar (score correct, part wrong).
