Woodfalls does ‘Proms in the Park’

Woodfalls Band, finalists for the National Brass Band Championships at the Royal Albert Hall will be giving a ‘Proms in the Park’ concert on the fields at the Redlynch Sports and Social Club on September 2nd. The band will be conducted by its Musical Director Dr Robert Childs, fresh from his summer travels to Australia, Canada, Norway and Japan.

The event is being organised as a thank you to the band's local community who have once again generously supported the 144-year-old institution throughout the year. Audience members are invited to bring a picnic, chairs and rugs and enjoy a concert featuring favourite fare from the traditional Last Night of the Proms. A fully licensed bar will also be available.

Woodfalls’ Band chairman Remus Sawyer said: "This is your chance to come and listen to our village band weeks before they travel to London to play at the world famous Royal Albert Hall as part of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain!"
A raffle will be run during the evening with proceeds helping the band to meet their prestigious commitments as they travel across the UK to perform at several high profile events. The band's latest recording "United" will also be on sale at the concert, priced at £13.95.

‘Proms in the Park’ is on September 2nd starting at 5pm at Redlynch Sports and Social Club (Salisbury, Wilts SP5 2LN) and is free. The concert will be held inside if wet weather prevails.
