Brian Turner CBE announced as Honorary Vice-President of B&R
The Brighouse and Rastrick Band is delighted to announce the appointment of lifelong fan and TV Celebrity Chef Brian Turner CBE as an Honorary Vice-President.
Band President Lyndon Stacey commented: “I am absolutely delighted that Brian has accepted my invitation to join us as an Honorary V-P. His passion for B&R is something we have appreciated since he played with us on Whit Friday some years ago, and his visit to our final rehearsal before our Nationals victory last year gave the players a huge boost in morale. The massive amount of work Brian does for many good causes makes him an incredibly busy person, but one we are very proud to have associated with the Band”.
Brian Turner commented: “I was absolutely bowled over with pride when the President asked me to become an Honorary Vice President of the world famous, and my favourite, Brighouse and Rastrick brass band. I knew instantly that they didn't need me to play in the band (!) so the chance to listen to them regularly and to officially support them annually at the Nationals in the Royal Albert Hall is a dream come true”.
His formal presentation will be made at B&R’s Massed Bands Concert in Huddersfield Town Hall with Boobs and Brass this Saturday 24th March.
