Hat-trick for Black Dyke

Fortunately the weather did not spoil this fantastic Regional qualification contest, with Peggy Tomlinson and the committee making the right decision in allowing the competition to go ahead at Huddersfield Town Hall this weekend.

One band that will certainly share this view-point is Black Dyke, and M.D. Professor Nicholas Childs, who clinched a hat-trick of area wins with their superb performance today. Runners-up were pre-qualified Brighouse & Rastrick, with Grimethorpe Colliery also qualifying for the National Finals after claiming third prize.

Congratulations to all the winners and National qualifiers from the other sections who will now be working towards their National appearances at Cheltenham in September.
